Nevada Energy – One Nevada Transmission Line (ON Line)

Nevada Energy – One Nevada Transmission Line (ON Line)

This project involved the construction of access roads, tower pads, and wire stringing sites for a 234 mile long 500-kV transmission line.  W.W. Clyde & Co. also maintained existing roads, ensured accessibility for construction traffic, and reclamation of pads. Efficient production and scheduling was critical to facilitate timely completion of all other facets of line construction. As the first contractor at each work location, coordination with multiple stakeholders was critical to project performance.  The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was the primary landowner and compliance agency along with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and White Pine, Nye, Lincoln, and Clark Counties.

The project alignment crossed a variety of terrain types ranging from mountains to desert landscapes.  The right of way contained multiple sensitive cultural resources including historical sites, archeological sites, paleontological sites, and threatened and endangered flora and fauna.  The work was scheduled to comply with specified work periods to limit impact on wildlife, including mule deer, sage grouse, migratory birds, and desert tortoise.
