The I-15; Black Ridge to Iron County Line project was UDOT Region 4’s first Design-Build Project. The goal of this project was to provide pavement rehabilitation, safety improvements, and the addition of a climbing lane on Interstate 15 in Washington County.  The scope of work also consisted of roadway widening, excavation, widened roadway section, bridge modifications, safety improvements, ATMS and wildlife fence.

Through the design-build process,  WW Clyde proposed an alignment with design solutions which eliminated all MSE walls on mainline and reduced the roadway excavation quantities; which saved the department approximately $2 million.  The project team was able to effectively manage the traffic on I-15 and local interchanges in a way that provided little to no delay to the traveling public.
