WW Clyde was founded in Springville, Utah in 1926 by Wilford W. Clyde. Our founder W. W. Clyde valued giving a full honest day’s work, taking care of his employees, and producing a high-quality product. Today, we continue to operate with those same values as one of the longest-running heavy civil construction companies with over 500 employees. We are privately owned, and many of W. W. Clyde’s posterity continues to lead the company. With his vision, WW Clyde expanded into the many Clyde Companies existing today – Geneva Rock, Sunroc, Sunpro, and more.

We started out with teams of horses and fresno scrapers in the early 20th century. With the invention of the automobile and the Highway Act of 1921, W.W. recognized the potential of the road construction industry. The first road contract successfully bid was $150,000, located in northern Nevada, near the Pequops mountains just west of Wendover. W.W. and his partner, James Sumsion, traveled with just one fresno dirt scraper and four horses to complete the job. That was the first road that was laid by W.W. Clyde and James Sumsion. In 2019, that same road was worked on by WW Clyde for a lane expansion and road improvement, almost 100 years later.

Today, we utilize the most cutting edge equipment and complete hundred-million-dollar contracts across multiple states. We honor our past as we build the future.

WW Clyde has earned a large breadth and depth of experience in heavy civil construction projects over the last 100 years. We have weathered the test of time through economic cycles because we know what is required to succeed.

Working in both public and private sectors, WW Clyde has built a massive portfolio of experience that includes highways, pipelines, bridges, dams, airports, mining operations, environmental reclamation, and mass earthwork projects throughout Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Arizona.

A lasting dedication to our mission of building a better community and our founding core values has given us a reputation of integrity, quality, and treating everyone with dignity and respect. Our core values are: We Value People; Our Word is Our Bond; Always Give a Full Measure; and Quality Products and Services at the Best Value.
