ARTBA Award 2022

WW Clyde recently took home the “Contractor Safety Award” from the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), its second national safety honor of the year. Winners were selected based on overall company safety performance in 2021.

In the category of less than 1 million personnel hours, WW Clyde tied with Texas Sterling Construction while Super Construction won in the 1-3 million hour category. Lane Construction took the safety prize in the category of more than 3 million personnel hours.

Finalists from three categories presented their safety record in front of a panel of industry judges. Panelists paid close attention to presentations that shared details of incident investigation, risk assessment, management commitment, auditing, employee participation, and safety planning within each company.

From there, honorees were chosen after careful scrutinization of injury/accident rates on work sites—as reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Experience Modification Rates (EMRs) determined by insurance carriers, and company safety programs.

Notably, earlier this year WW Clyde also received the National Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA). The CSEA recognized WW Clyde as an outstanding construction company who excels at safety performance, measured through evidence of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation. In part, the honor was given for navigating the 2021 calendar year without a single recordable incident.

WW Clyde plans to continue its focus on safety into the new year by providing its employees with additional safety training.

Our commitment to health and safety includes not only our crews but also community members. We are constantly striving for zero incidents and no injuries, no matter how minor.
