Sage Creek Highway Asphalt Paving

The Sage Creek Highway project was planned by Federal Highway Administration – Wyoming Division for the improvements of Sage Creek Highway. To rehab and reconstruct the highway, W.W. Clyde & Co. had to crush the existing road base and asphalt aggregates, replace 100,000 tons of road base on 44 miles of roadway, and 120,000 tons of asphalt was placed on 33 miles of the highway to restore it to the original design with improved long term lifespan and higher safety requirements.

It was necessary to set up a portable crusher and hot plant on this due to the remote location of this portion of the highway. It took approximately 80 truck loads to transport the plants. A two acre wetland area was constructed for this, which included excavation, ground shaping, and planting of 1500 willow whips.
