Dustin Olson
President
As president of WW Clyde, Dustin directs all operational functions of the organization. Dustin has an affinity for carrying out projects that surpass expectations, and he is committed to the success of all of WW Clyde’s projects.
Dustin has built a career of experience as a field engineer, project manager, operations manager, and most recently vice president of field operations. Dustin has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Brigham Young University. Dustin’s education and career’s experience combine into a unique skill set that qualifies him to oversee the full operations of the company. He is actively serving as a member of the AGC Highway Safety Committee, AGC Highway Committee, and UAPA Operations Committee.
Dustin enjoys outdoor activities, especially fly fishing and backpacking. He currently resides in Highland, Utah with his wife and four children.
John Thompson
Vice President of Construction
As the vice president of construction, John leads all traditional bid-build work in the Intermountain West. With over 20 years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry, he has expertise in pipelines, bridges, crushing, paving, dams, and mining projects throughout the western United States in both remote and urban environments.
Previously, John has worked as an area manager, project manager, project engineer, and field engineer. He has a bachelor’s degree in agri-business from Utah State University. John is currently involved with the Utah Asphalt Paving Association and the Utah Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
John enjoys horse riding and exploring Utah’s outdoor recreational opportunities with his wife and 3 daughters. He resides in Levan, Utah.
Jeff Cochran
Vice President of Preconstruction
Jeff Cochran oversees all business development, procurement, and estimates for the company as Vice President of Preconstruction. Throughout his career, he has developed great working relationships with owners, cities, utility owners, stakeholders, and developers. With extensive experience in construction management, design, and alternative delivery procurement, he evaluates, plans, and prepares for upcoming opportunities.
Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is a professional engineer in the state of Utah. He is a member of AGC and the Design-Build Institute of America.
Jeff enjoys golfing, camping, and spending time with his family outdoors. He and his wife Rachael live in Mapleton and have four children.
Garrett Updike
Director of Human Resources
As the director of human resources, Garrett oversees the people strategy at WW Clyde with an emphasis to attract, retain, develop and motivate the best in the industry. He has over 15 years of experience in human resources and is passionate about creating a culture and workplace where all team members can thrive.
Garrett received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. In addition to the construction industry, he has also worked in the higher education and waste and environmental services industries. Prior to joining WW Clyde, he was the head of human resources for a commercial general contractor in Colorado.
Garrett enjoys the outdoors, participating in and watching sports, and going to the movies. But most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and four children. They reside in Lehi, Utah.
Nate Neal
Director of Safety
As the director of safety for WW Clyde, Nate leads all safety efforts for WW Clyde’s wide range of tough and innovative projects.
Nate has extensive safety experience in various types of construction work such as heavy highway, power generation, vertical construction, pipelines, bridges, mining projects, dam’s, airports, paving operations, tunneling, water and wastewater plants, wind, and solar. Nate has 20 years of experience in the safety industry and has a bachelor’s degree in construction management. Nate also holds a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is a member of the AGC highway safety committee for Utah.
Nate lives in Genola, Utah with his wife where they enjoy all things outdoors especially horse riding, camping, and running.
