What Our Interns Say
Being an intern at WWC put me on a career path that has allowed for so many growth opportunities and experiences. I could never have imagined that starting as an intern at WWC could ever result in running the company one day.
The internship at WWC allowed me to learn equipment, estimating, project management, and so many things that helped me learn how to build heavy-civil construction projects. I worked with people who valued me and taught and mentored me.”
I was an intern in my senior year for 6 months, on the estimating team performing quantity takeoffs. I came with experience in the field but it gave me a new perspective of the value of my education efforts, and the relation to my field experience. After 6 months I was in the field full time as a Project Engineer and Foreman, then moved to a Superintendent, Construction Manager then a Project Manager. After 15 years in the field in project operations, I moved into the equipment group as the Equipment Manager.
My experience as an intern for WW Clyde was both challenging and rewarding. I was able to learn, grow, and contribute in a way that fueled my desire to work here full time.
I received incredible mentoring which enabled me to work with highly trained staff. Everyone took the time to help and teach me. I worked in many different areas, both field and office, and there was unlimited potential for my growth and learning. I cannot imagine a better intern experience.
Working as an estimating intern for WW Clyde greatly improved my skills in plans interpretation and material quantity take-offs with the ability to multitask between various projects to effectively meet scheduled deadlines.
Each employee who qualifies to participate in the program will receive specific training and development in each core area to amplify their skill set in heavy construction. We know the value of our interns, and enjoy training the future leaders in construction management and civil engineering.
WHY APPLY FOR WW CLYDE’S CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS?
“An internship is an ideal opportunity to get to know WW Clyde, and for the management of WW Clyde to get to know you. We would much rather hire someone into a full-time position if they have previously been an intern. Several of our senior managers started their careers in an internship.” – Duston Olson, WW Clyde President
