Interns at WW Clyde

Clyde Companies is doubling down on its investment in the next generation of talent—literally. Over the past year, the number of interns across the enterprise has grown by more than 100%, strengthening the company’s long tradition of developing future leaders from within.

That legacy runs deep: Dustin Olson (President of WW Clyde), Scott Okelberry (Chief Operating Officer of Clyde Companies), and Mark Elder (President of Suncore) all began their careers as interns at Clyde Companies.

An internship at Clyde is a two-way extended interview. Interns gain hands-on experience and a true sense of our culture, while leaders identify individuals who have the character, capability and drive to build lasting careers here.

While internships are offered across all subsidiaries, WW Clyde has set the pace with one of the strongest programs. The company’s approach combines early and intentional recruiting, strong university partnerships and meaningful work assignments that allow interns to make real contributions.

Since 2018, WW Clyde has hosted ‘Intern Selection Day,’ inviting candidates to the office for a full day of interviews, case studies, presentations and interactions with company leaders.

“We designed Intern Selection Day to assess capabilities and cultural fit.” Zach Barton, Recruiter at WW Clyde, said. “More importantly, it gives students a real look at what they will find at WW Clyde, and if this is the right place to build a career.”

“It showed me how important the intern program was to WW Clyde. I felt like I was given a chance to see the company on a more personal level,” Broque Domme, a Student from Montana State University, explained. It helped him decide to intern with WW Clyde in 2025.

Last year, WW Clyde hosted 48 candidates, extended 36 offers and achieved an offer acceptance rate of 89%. They anticipate that more than 88% will either return as interns or become full-time employees in the summer of 2026. On November 21, 58 intern candidates attended from 24 universities as part of this year’s Intern Selection Day. Once candidates accept, they will begin the process of placing them in assignments.

“We invest in our interns because they represent the next generation of Clyde talent,” Chris Brooks, Director of Human Resources at WW Clyde, said. “When they fit our culture and transition into full-time roles, it shortens the learning curve, strengthens our teams and fuels our continued growth.”

A strong talent pipeline is essential to Clyde Companies’ long-term success. By investing in meaningful internship experiences, the company ensures that tomorrow’s leaders are already in the making of building a better community.
