A W.W. Clyde & Co. project in Orem was recently featured by FOX 13 News Utah for its role in protecting one of Utah’s most important water supply systems.
The Alpine Aqueduct project is located near the mouth of Provo Canyon and supports water delivery to as many as 1.6 million Utahns. The work involves rerouting an existing pipeline through a challenging area with known landslides and fault lines to help ensure reliable service during seismic events or other disruptions.
The project includes installation of 108-inch welded steel, earthquake-resistant pipe and construction of roughly 1,000 feet of tunnel through mountain rock. Crews are also working within a high-profile residential area, requiring careful coordination and planning throughout construction.
The project is owned by Central Utah Water Conservancy District, with W.W. Clyde serving as the contractor. Together, the teams are delivering infrastructure designed to protect a critical water supply and serve Utah communities well into the future.
