We are proud to support the communities in which we do business. W.W. Clyde wouldn’t be giving ‘a full measure’ if we were not volunteering for and providing support to causes that benefit our neighborhoods and communities.
Our employees set a great example, with more than 3,000 hours of service donated in 2013. These hours are in addition to volunteer assistance while on the job, including: car accident assistance near road project sites, offering water trucks and equipment to remove debris from spills on the highway, and water truck and work crew assistance in containing fires while fire departments are being deployed.
Annual donations and volunteer support are granted to community events, high school athletic teams, safety fairs, and the following organizations:
Utah Transportation Coalition
W.W. Clyde & Co. has joined the Utah Transportation Coalition, a group of business and civic leaders concerned with Utah’s environment, economy and quality of life as Utah continues to grow. Our transportation system affects each of these things. The Coalition is advocating for a long-term funding solution for transportation. We need a plan to fund diverse needs from highways to walking trails and transit service to bike paths.
We want our citizens to enjoy the best that life in Utah has to offer: good air quality, good health, a strong economy and well-paying jobs. We can shape the future of each of these things, in part, through investment in transportation. Learn more about the Utah transportation Coalition here.
Springville Art City Days Balloon Festival
For over 15 years, W.W. Clyde & Co. has been the sponsor of the Springville Art City Days Balloon Festival. Thousands of residents participate in this free, two day, summer-fest type event where 15+ hot air balloon pilots from across the country meet to launch their balloons from the Springville Junior High School field.
Event activities include free hot air balloon rides for adults and children, breakfast, a target competition, face painting and other child-friendly activities, and more. All activities are free for Springville residents and friends from surrounding communities.
Community Sports Fields
In recent years, we have taken the opportunity to help support various cities and organizations in their quest to build soccer and baseball fields. In particular, our company was able to help grade a baseball field for the City of Eureka, and grade soccer fields for the City of Perry and the Scenic View Academy, a school for autistic patients.
