Blount Crew in Action at the 100 Mill Office Tower Project Site

100 Mill is located in downtown Tempe, AZ. This is a high-profile project for the city due to its location next to the historic Hayden House, the childhood home of Senator Carl Hayden. The development is comprised of an 18 story, 287,000 square-foot class A office tower with 2 levels of below-grade parking.

Months of careful planning were required to design a cost-effective shoring system to support the excavation next to the historic house. Poor site soils, common to the Salt River basin, made the excavation even more difficult as over 36,000 CY of soil was removed to complete the basement. The experience enabled our crews to successfully stabilize raveling soils as the basement walls were excavated and shored.

The development is comprised of an 18 story, 287,000 square-foot class A office tower with 2 levels of below-grade parking. It required 36,000 CY of soil removal to complete the basement.
