Amber Creek a small Multifamily Residential development in Thornton, Co. with a Contract value of 3.8 million dollars this project for DR Horton has consisted of Sub-ex, Utilities, Grading, Concrete paving, and Asphalt paving for what will be 104 rental units for DR Horton. IHC Scott had 200,000 CY of sub-ex for the multifamily units and streets on this tight 25-acre site. There was an old drainage channel running through it which meant we ran into groundwater and excess moisture throughout the project which ended up making every aspect just a little more difficult, and interesting to work through. To help turn this from a field into a neighborhood we installed all of the sanitary sewer, water, and storm pipe, which all combined is over 2 miles of pipe and trench work. IHC Scott also had a large pond that we had to finalize for the commercial side of the site which required 10,000CY of cut to increase capacity, a large 330LF weir wall, trickle channel and an outlet structure, and raising an entire section of roadway to ensure that the pond will meet final engineer and city storm water specifications.
