The Myton Bench Widening Project is a road widening project constructed for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) on US-40 highway between Myton and Roosevelt, Utah. The current highway is a two lane road and the project will add one lane in each direction and add a center turning lane, for a final configuration of five lanes.
The principal items of work are 95,500 tons of ½ Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), 151,000 cubic yards of Roadway excavation, 57,500 cubic yards of Untreated Base Course, 81,700 cubic yards of Granular Borrow and various upgrades to the drainage system and improvements to signs, traffic control and lighting. A portion of the original road section is milled to change the road profile and then overlaid with new HMA to increase road thickness and improve overall smoothness.
In conjunction to the improvements to the UDOT’s infrastructure, a 12 inch and 8 inch diameter culinary waterline system are installed, the total length of the combined waterlines are 7,200 lineal feet.
